Will COS work in my chlor-alkali membrane cellroom?
Yes. COS works on monopolar and bipolar designs. It works on fixed gap cells and zero gap cells. It works with any cathode style, any make of membrane, with KOH and NaOH catholytes, at any catholyte temperature, and at all current densities.
Will COS affect my caustic quality?
No. When used properly, COS will remain in the cathode chamber and not affect the caustic quality.
How often should I use COS?
Electrode Solutions recommends using COS in the most economic manner. Electrode Solutions can assist you with this analysis, however it is likely that using a low level continuously will yield the best economic return.
How does COS compare to OEM supplied cathode coatings?
COS will deliver a lower operating voltage than an OEM supplied cathode coating. In addition, using COS allows a cell room operator to maintain the lowest voltage whereas OEM coatings will gradually increase in voltage.
Can COS be used if an OEM cathode coating is already being used?
Yes. COS will work on bare nickel substrates, on previously catalyzed substrates, on iron covered substrates and even on stainless steel substrates.
